he was always happy for the chance considering the duo tended to be too busy to just simply hang out 24/7 like most teams would but he was content with the time he could get. better than being completely separated, right? and it wasn't like he could ask for more time with him. not only was it kind of weird in his mind and embarrassing to even consider, but he didn't think he wanted mizumi to suffer his company longer than he had to. he smiled sadly at the thought, keeping these opinions to himself so his partner couldn't scold him for thinking lowly of himself as usual.
he was brought out of his thoughts however at the smell of coffee hitting his sensitive nose, that sickle of a tail of his perking in response to such a strong scent as he looked over to zumi, a questioning brow lifted. "this place?" he asked once more as he had done a couple of times before as they had passed the other apparently unpleasant places. "it smells good." he admitted softly, a lot better than the other places they had passed. the trainer had said he would find somewhere good for them so he of course had to rely on his judgement. not to mention the place seemed pretty popular, a lot more active with customers than the others had been much to his demise.
abel wasn't very comfortable with a lot of things. crowds was one of them. a lot of people made him a bit uneasy and he honestly wasn't too fond of the idea of being in such a busy place. but once again, he kept this to himself, not wanting mizumi to concern himself over his own stupid aversions and whatnot. he of course wanted whatever his partner wanted. and if this happened to be the place, he would simply comply and try to ignore it everyone else. luckily his partner had a way of keeping the gijinka calm with his mere presence alone. so perhaps it wouldn't be too bad. he shook the thought aside, awaiting his trainer's lead as usual.
((ooc: that was a horrible opening i'm sorry ;v; lol))

This was the one! Nodding to his partner's words, Mizumi tugged the other towards the cafe. This was much easier now that the trainer was holding his partner's hand. As he led the boy into the shop, Miz tossed a look back. "Is this too packed for you?". The question was asked as he led the other through the door and into the crowd, keeping the absol close to himself. At least Abel didn't have to fear strange looks, with his partner seeming a sweet young girl rather than a male. To onlookers, it was almost a cute sighter, the pair holding hands and sticking so close together. Moving their way to the counter, Mizumi waited till their shoulders were pressed together, giving him a light smile. "Just cocoa, right? That should come out pretty quick!". He was trying to be optimistic, to keep the other in a good mood.

he still felt like he should keep on his guard. though honestly, what was the worst that could happen? someone spill coffee on them? he rolled his eyes, deciding to just try and relax. zumi's presence should help. or at least make him focus on everyone else less. he nodded to himself at the thought as they walked into the shop, shaking his head at his trainer's question. "it's fine.." he assured with a slight smile. "i can handle it." he added, hoping to get rid of any worry his partner might have. no need for him to worry so much about him really. it was just a personal aversion of his, not a life threatening danger even though it certainly felt like it at times for the gijinka. regardless, he appreciated mizumi staying close, it made him feel slightly better. he was just glad he didn't realize people thought they looked like a couple. that would have been embarrassing for the love shy absol.
"mhmm." he simply offered at mizumi's question, once again unable to help keep that smile back when he saw the man's own. "what about you?" he asked, curious to see how much he'd absorbed from his complaint earlier about him not getting enough sleep. if the man got coffee he might have to man up to the bitter taste and switch with him. he was really determined to see his partner get the rest he needed. annoyingly so. oh well. at least he cared, right? not to mention keeping his mind focused on something else made him forget about the packed place they were in.

Looking at the other, that playful smile would never cease. As tempting as it was to say coffee and watch his sweet partner become ruffled, he simply shrugged. "Cocoa! and..maybe a muffin. Would you like to split one? ". Squeezing the boy's hand, Mizumi shuffled them towards the front while eyeing the other, awaiting his response before making any sort of notion to the woman at the counter that they were ready. (SMALL!! sorry!)

zumi however surprised him by agreeing to something less sleep depriving, even proposing splitting a muffin, blushing slightly as he felt him squeeze his hand a bit, reminded of the fact that they were still doing that. "uh.. sure." he agreed surprisingly. though it was a lie. a simple one that wouldn't harm anybody but a lie nonetheless. he'd of course deny it when they were seated but for now he'd play along. he just had a feeling that maybe would have turned to a no if he'd denied. not that mizumi was dreadfully skinny or anything but he worried about him enough he wanted to make sure he was well taken care of. even though he was the world's worst hypocrite in that sense. he wasn't one to practice what he preached.
"get whatever you want." he added whilst carefully shuffling through his pocket for some cash. it was a delicate mission trying to pay for the other. he couldn't get caught or he'd risk getting scolded. he smirked at the thought as they made their way to the front, allowing mizumi to do the ordering as he fished out the required payment.

Finally reaching the counter, Mizumi knew just what he wanted. Giving the girl a smile and a 'good morning!', he followed the words with a polite order of white chocolate cocoa, and a blueberry muffin. After asking for these things, he turned towards his friend, trying to pull the other closer by gently tugging his head, smiling at him lightly. "You get something too, silly! I worry about you not eating enough", Of course he said this lightly, not allowing the girl, a stranger, to butt in to the conversation. Miz was more than aware such a thing could cause his sweet pokemon to grow anxious. The last thing he wanted was the other ditching out on him! Not that he would ever do that - rather, not that Mizumi would ever let him get away.

rolling his eyes, the absol chuckled slightly, "now who's worrying too much?" he asked teasingly before sighing. "i'm fine. it's not like i'm skin and bones." he assured with a soft smile. however, the idea of his partner worrying about him made abel feel a little bad for brushing off his concern like that. he sighed to himself at the thought before obediently ordering for himself, offering a simple 'same' in response to avoid pointlessly wasting breath on a complete stranger. a strange behavior indeed but abe was quite the strange pokemon to begin with.
once the order was placed and the payment was due, abe was quick to slide in his money before mizumi could even consider doing so. he didn't want zumi wasting money on him and certainly wasn't going to allow him to pay in the first place. he was too kind to him already. he had to try and make up for it in ways like this. of course it never quite reached the amount in how much mizumi had done for him. he was okay with it though. he'd keep trying and get it eventually. "don't complain." he stated simply with a smirk, already anticipating an argument out of this.

Of course he worried too much! Abel was one of his more dear friends. He still kept a light feeling, hands gently squeezing the other's upper arm lightly, leaning against him slightly. "Oh yes, you're just made of lots and lots of muscle~". He was lightly teasing the other, though the woman behind the counter only rolled her eyes. She took the money from the other with a light thankful and told him the drinks be ready soon. When the other paid, Mizumi gave a light 'he-' but it was cut off by the other's demand for no whining. The trainer stared at him, then huffed, his cheeks so lightly puffed in a childish manner before his arms wrapped around his friend's, mumbling. "Let's find a seat.. you jerk!!"

"yeah, yeah." he simply muttered, not at all having any hard feelings towards his trainer, not that he thought it was even possible to begin with, but still rather flustered about the attention he was starting to recieve, praying for the redness to go away quickly.
as the due was paid and the anticipated storm brewing in mizumi at the fact he was the one who'd covered it, abel smirked at the huff, chuckling slightly at the bit of puffed cheeks he had going on. he could be such a child. which was an odd thought coming from him considering he was actually the younger of the two. still didn't change the fact though. especially when mizumi went further to call him a jerk. "sure thing, brat." he finally teased back, finding he had regained his composure just in time to face the rest of the shop without having to worry about his blush being noticed by anyone else. with that in mind, he felt the other's arms wrapped around his own and took the liberty of leading him to an open table that was out of the center of attention, a place much needed as more teasing was sure to be inevitable for abe. mizumi just seemed to be the master at it. or else the absol was simply easily effected by it. regardless, he was sort of prepared.
not really. he was pretty fucked. but at least it was mizumi and not someone who he knew was merely teasing him just to hurt him. he knew his partner was only messing around. at least he hoped that was indeed the case. he rolled his eyes at the thought as he pulled out zumi's chair and waited for him to sit down.

When the seat was pulled out of him, Mizumi glanced at the other and gave a gentle laugh before taking the offered seat. Folding his hands into his lap, the trainer watched the absol curiously, a pleased look on his face. "You're really just too charming Abel! If you weren't so shy, i'm sure you'd be such a lady killer~". The words were followed by a playful wink while he worked on smoothing out his shirt a bit.. It was quite true though. He was a terribly handsome boy, and his shyness - what Mizumi called it at least - was unbearably cute.

"lady killer?" he scoffed. "yeah right..." he smirked slightly. "you seem to have forgotten i'm not the most appreciated guy around here." he pointed out.
he could blame rocket and zero's who managed to cause him trouble but he supposed his attitude never really helped either. and absol was never a very appreciated pokemon either. they had that in common. of course so far he hasn't had to deal with much natural disaster accusations yet. he anticipated it though being the pessimist he was. he sighed at the thought. "besides, i'm not... charming. i'm just looking out for you." he explained with a slightly innocent smile. it wasn't too far from the truth. no one else really had the chance to see this side of him and he didn't plan on that changing anytime soon. he was perfectly content with just having mizumi to be that one person he could trust and be able to have these little get-together's like this.
of course, admittedly it did get pretty lonely whenever they couldn't hang out because of the other's work keeping him busy. he didn't blame him though. not that he could or even would consider it anyway. but he still wasn't too worried about changing that. the misanthropist didn't think it was worth the trouble meeting others. everyone else was just terrible people. mizumi was an exception. he wasn't quite sure why that was but it was the fact. probably another reason why he liked him so much. he chuckled lightly at the thought.

"and YOU think too little of yourself! Come on.. shouldn't being around me show you that you shouldn't care what others think? Be yourself! Your very adorable self <3". He gave a gentle laugh, gently shaking his head at the other's arguing. "Say it all you want, I think you are very handsome - and a very charming young man. You just need a bit more confidence.". Of course, he understood the other was indeed looking out for his trainer - though Miz hoped it was due to friendship instead of obligation. Who was he kidding, he knew it was friendship! To him, Abel was one of his best friends. Someone he trusted, and didn't mind to lean on. Thankfully, Mizumi rarely needed to spill out to the other. "..One day, you're going to be stuck in a corner, and i'm totally going to save you. Just watch!". He was grinning though, not meaning any harm - though he wished he could. One day save Abel, as the other always saved him. From lonliness, stress and the small bouts of depression.
