"Well that's the smarter way to put it." he agreed with a sheepish grin. For someone so young, he was pretty smart. Or Nemo was sort of a dunce. Either way, he shrugged it off, glad Ryuu seemed to understand a little bit. But then he went on, clearly taking his comment earlier too literally. As he went off, trying to explain he didn't want to be cute anymore and kill him, Nemo found himself biting his lip as he tried once more to keep back the laughter. He knew if he was asking a legitimate question he'd get pissed off if someone started laughing at him. He didn't want to anger his new friend. At least that's what he already considered the recently met partner. "Nonono!" he quickly interjected before the boy could get too worked up over it. "I didn't actually mean you were killing me." he chuckled. "It's just a joke." he explained. "You're cuteness is funny. It's making it hard for me to not laugh." he admitted hesitantly. It certainly wasn't a bad thing that he was laughing though. He didn't mean to make fun of him. He just found how cute he was amusing. He honestly couldn't say he'd met anyone like him. It was kind of special for him he supposed. "you're not killing me though i promise." he added a bit more comfortingly. "as cheesy as it might sound, you're probably making me the happiest i've been in a while." he continued in an assuring tone. "don't take too much of what i say seriously." he smirked. "i've been told i'm a bit of a joker." he spoke with a bit of pride. hey, it was better than some of the stuff people called him. but he didn't want to get into that. he wasn't sure how the boy would react to those things. especially the delinquent comments and how elders usually scolded him and pounded into his head that he was bound to end up in rocket with how 'bad' he was. some people just took things way too seriously. but ryuu had nothing to worry about. he wasn't nowhere near that bad and he was determined to never be that way. once again, nemo found his company acting odd, seeming to react oddly to the touch and compliment. of course it didn't take him long to figure it out. or at least he thought he had. the boy seemed to be embarrassed about it so he retracted his hand and returned it to his pocket to keep him from getting too worked up over it. he did however keep holding his hand. just because he knew ryuunomu seemed more comfortable that way. not to mention he might appreciate someone leading him around without having to work so hard to maneuver about. he had to give him credit. if he couldn't see, he doubted he'd adapt that well. but the gijinka seemed pretty capable. had to be rough though. he frowned slightly at the thought, hoping that wasn't something that really made the boy sad. he wasn't sure how he could fix that. but damn it all, he'd try if he needed to! nemo continued to rummage through his pockets till he found his cash, looking over to ryuu as he spoke and catching a quick glance of the small smile of his, unable to hold back his own as the boy spoke, thanking him again. "it's nothing. anything for a new friend." he chuckled, turning his attention ahead as they finally reached the coffee shop. awesome! it would be nice to get inside for a bit. of course he decided it was best to not linger too long or else risk getting ryuu nervous about team rocket again. he didn't want him to be scared anymore. he was brought out of his thoughts though as he felt him squeeze his hand, finding that slight warm blush on his face again. "heh... come on, let's get inside." he spoke, opening the door and leading him into the small coffee shop, the smell of coffee and sweets getting stronger now that they were inside. he barely even heard ryuu's whisper, about to ask but deciding not to worry too much about it. if he wanted him to know he would have told him, right? once inside he lead him up to the counter, meeting the barista who gave a friendly welcoming. "what are you kids doing out this late?" she asked, mistaking the two for much younger than they were, something nemo was much too used to for his liking. "nothing much~" he replied, ignoring the misunderstanding for now, he didn't want to get into an argument about it right now. "can you get something to drink for my friend here? something sweet with lotsa honey. tea preferably." he spoke, remembering the boy had mentioned earlier how he wanted tea. he didn't drink the stuff so he wasn't sure what exactly was good and hoped she'd be able to provide ryuu with something actually good. "and i guess some cocoa for me." he continued, deciding he might as well get something too while they were here. he might have just been feeling ryuu's pain but he felt like he personally could use something warm for his throat too. soon enough, their orders were made and nemo paid for the drinks, making the order to go so they could drink on the way home unless ryuu decided he was fine with sticking around for a bit. regardless he handed ryuu his tea and sipped on his own cocoa. couldn't go wrong with it. it was better than coffee in his opinion. sure coffee smelled better but it was much too bitter for his tastes. helped out when you had to cram a night full of studying after you completely forgot your homework at the last minute though. he was going to have to stop torturing himself like that. he rolled his eyes at the thought, turning to ryuu with a questioning look on his face. "is that any good?" he asked, making sure it was something he even liked before they headed out again. [/style] |
