he never believed in old fables and superstitions. his grandmother and great aunts would always tell him to pray to shooting stars and make wishes at 11:11, but he knew it was nothing but nonsense, made to entertain gullible children like himself. so when he heard of the small celebration taking place at lugia fountain, it didn't particularly catch his interest. the fountain would probably be littered with coins for the homeless, unfortunate and the greedy to take and run with, but other than that... it didn't sound too thrilling.
so when his feet carried him to the fountain out of pure curiosity, he shunned himself. "there'd better be food," he grumbled under his breath, arms folded across his chest as if he were a pouting child. the sun had begun to set, casting the sky aglow in an orange and purple haze. the dim streetlights began to flicker on and the people in the fountain square became a little more lively. there was music, something that remy could always agree with and a crowd surrounding the fountain. with a bounce in his step, a hand on his hip and a keen eye open for any food stalls that might be around, he paraded the street, drawing attention from his fanciful steps.
remy came to the main attraction and focus of the small celebration, that being the grand lugia fountain. he pushed through the crowd with quiet "excuse me"s, bumping some bystander rather impolitely before turning and apologizing with a small and quite faux smile. finally, he was standing in front of the fountain and slowly, he reached into his pocket to grab his wallet and find some sort of coin - something to contribute to the fest until...
he brought his hand up out of his pocket to bring back nothing. violet eyes widened and the male spun around frantically, brows furrowing, lips curling downwards into a snarl. someone stole his wallet and there was going to be hell to pay.
too bad he didn't notice it on the ground, directly in the center of the crowd.
