He seemed to be debating it, which was better than turning him down immediately. He smiled, hopeful, and his children had their eyes on the boy now, as well. He'd bring them for icecream even if he turned down his offer, likely. He'd hate to mention icecream without the intention of giving it to them, depending it all on a stranger they had no reason to like or dislike. He watched the way he tilted his head, chewed his cheek as he thought. Just like Pascal. Watching his movements, he was missing the man more and more, and he was reminded again of why his curiosity had gotten away from him. He was so much like him, without even knowing him. He smiled warmly at the question. "Any kind you'd like. Alexis enjoys strawberry--I've always liked vanilla, though, really." Avery piped up, claiming chocolate as her favorite.

It was faint, and cast towards small Avery. He liked children. He was silent, then looked back to Victor, mumbling* "..I'm allergic to strawberry, but.. mint is nice". His eyes went back to the children, hesitant, before he knelt down and he spoke slowly to the small children. "Would you like me to come with you?". He spoke clear, well. He seemed use to talking to children. [/style] |

The smile was faint but it was enough to ease Victor's guilt and shame. He allowed himself to relax a bit and his smile did as well. If the child had no parents, he wanted to give him a bit of happiness. He didn't seem to have a lot of it.. He blinked at the claim of an allergy. Strawberry? He knew the allergy, of course. His wife was allergic to strawberries, as well. Pascal was not, however. What an odd thing... He didn't let his mind trail too far, and he smiled. "Mint is available as well." He stated, then watched him kneel to the children, speak to them softly. It was sweet. Avery nodded. "Oui. J'aime bien tes cornes." Simplistic reasoning. She reached out to touch them, but Victor tsked at her, and she drew her hand back, disappointment written over her small face. Alexis seemed to be unsure about the idea. Jet was a stranger, after all. But if papa seemed to like him, he supposed he could like him too, so he nodded, but did not audibly answer. - - - - - - - - - - Oui. J'aime bien tes cornes. - "Yes. I like your horns."

He was use to this. When the man tsked, Jethro looked up, but then shook his head. Reaching out, he gently took the small child's hand and guided them back to the horns. They were young, innocent. He would let them toy for now. Their words were blunt, not meant to hurt. He couldn't hate a child's curiousness. "You may touch, but please be gentle. They are my head, after all.". He cast her another smile, hoping the child understood before slowly nodding. "..I'll go. ..you seem to have a lot of questions." [/style] |

The smile disappeared, and he supposed he understood why. The boy's skin was gray; he was sure he was asked about his appearance many times, and children were always so blunt, his Avery especially. She liked her opinions known, and she didn't care who knew it. He didn't want her to upset him, but he didn't seem to mind that she wanted to touch the little nubs. They were fake.. weren't they? Avery was fully fascinated with the, touching her fingers along the edges, careful. Alexis had gathered his books from the floor and tucked them against his chest as he shifted behind Victor's legs, watching his sister. Victor flushed faintly. "I apologize for them.. but I'm glad you'll come." It was a way of an apology for his actions, and his daughter, rubbing his horns like that.

He allowed the girl to toy with his horns for a time.. those certain pinches made him scrunch up his nose. She was cute. "I'm sure to children asking.". He slowly stood up, nodding to him. He didn't mind ice cream now. " Mh.. I uh..s.should we go?". He was so nervous. [/style] |

He knew that face. He'd seen that face so many times. He missed that face. It wasn't like Pascal's scrunched distaste or discomfort. It was exactly the same. It was his face. Could he really be his..? He was seventeen. Pascal must have been so young... He watched Jet and Avery interact, small smile on his lips, until Jet stood. He nodded. "Oui, of course," he looked at the children. "Come on, little ones. We check out first." He looked to Jet. "If that's alright.."

He seemed startled, quickly turning to grab his text book. he held it close once more, giving a sigh of relief. "Yes..! I..need to check this out for school as well." Midterms were coming soon. Yay. He rolled his eyes and looked to the other, awaiting him to lead. Still, he was wary of the children, glancing down and them here and then. [/style] |
