[/style]trainers are usually the ones getting hurt on the field. due to their intense bond with whatever gijinka they were destined to pair with, they take on their partner's pain. in loveless, these roles were called sacrifices, and for good reason; their pain could become strong enough to kill them, but as long as they keep their gijinka alive, many don't care about death. trainers are the ones who tell their gijinka partners what attacks would be best, and because these attacks depend on if a trainer feels pain or not, gijinkas have the utmost trust in their decisions... usually.✻ the gijinkas.
gijinkas are considered the most powerful beings in a pair at first glance. they're the ones who do the attacking, and by embodying a pokemon's spirit, they are able to utilize any of that pokemon's powers. gijinkas of a spearow, for instance, are able to fly high in the air if they choose to. however, gijinkas aren't completely invincible. like their trainers, they too feel pain. however, this pain comes from major separation from their trainers. this is why gijinkas usually accompany their trainers anywhere and can't wander off more than a few miles away before they grow weak. gijinka are also able to fight on their own, but without the help of their trainer, their power is diminished. gijinkas may not be legendary pokemon.✻ zeros and blanks.
zeros are quite the anomaly -- used by team rocket, these pairs don't feel anything. literally. trainers can't feel the pain of their gijinkas and gijinkas don't feel pain at major separation from their trainers. they began as an experiment in the rocket lab, and now are considered dangerously powerful.
of course, zeros all have their weaknesses as well: their lack of feeling pain doesn't tell them when to stop, and their bodies could shut down at any moment's notice. any weakness is fair game, as long as the weakness is pre-approved by an administrator.
blanks are formed when their other half is absent; either they have been rejected from their partner, their partner has died, or they never got a chance to meet each other. therefore, blanks are unable to form a "true" bond with a partner. this makes blanks far weaker than other pairs. while blanks are able to fight alongside another partner (or another pair) they will still never unlock their true potential.
blanks are a taboo topic, usually considered as a type of reject or screw-up. they have their team name erased and are forced to manually carve the name of the team they join onto a part of their body. blanks have been known to help fight alongside another created pair, making them a trio rather than a duo, but this is a rare case. most blanks are seen as a substitute, filling in for a partner who has died or cannot battle.
currently, characters may not be a blank and zero at the same time.
