That was a laugh. Tea and release were two very different forms of relaxation. Well, perhaps the later was less for relaxation and more for relief of tension. Valor had never had a tea good enough to give him a relief worth substitution. " Some people need a push. You used to be quite healthy with your activity, you know~ It would be nice to see you.. like that again~" Happy was the word that the blonde was looking for, but he had a bit of a time trying to come up with a word as big as that one. " .. I get it when I need it, you are well aware. You need it, but you do not get it. Therein lies the problem, loverboy~" he uttered, grabbing for his drink and sipping at it as he simply accepted the sad fate of his hair. There was typically a point in which he had to give up on something around his elder. " You seem to be going to town with my hair up there; is something the mater, hm?" he asked, peering to the side, leaning into the touch. Kohaku could be touchy at times, but usually not like this. At least, he hadn't been in some time. " Not worried about me, are you~?" He chortled.

A pause 'not that I would want another. My refusal for such a thing is a turn away I suppose. Not a handsome devil who swoons like a certian guppy in the room' he laughed and kissed the othrr's cheek while thinking of his words. Yes, he was worried. 'I always worry. Your habits make me fear you will meet the wrong person and I will lose my favorite little tadpol' he smiled despite his words, though his tight grip made sense now. Kohaku was a worried, almost paranoid man. Or simply just lonely [/style] |

Valor couldn't say that he was surprised, nor could he bother to admit that the other's lackluster response was a tride boring. At least when he haad the opportunity to hear an excuse from his counterpart, it was typically an amusing one. Still, he gave a cheeky grin, nosing in against the other man as he enjoyed their closeness. The other wasn't too warm in particular, but warm enough to give his cold blood a decent heating. "I believe you are mistaking a swoon for having a libedo, my friend," he practically hummed, reaching to trace a circle with his finger on the other's arm, "Which, as you should know, is neither unhealthy or abnormal. Perhaps you should work on having one of your own." A sex life. Kohaku deserved, at the very least, that much of a relationship with someone. With a man of his looks, stature, and financial situation-- it wouldn't be too difficult for the man to find a woman worth settling for. Or something along those lines. Then again, Valor knew Kohaku to be a bit less shallow than that. "Mm~?" he purred, gesturing a brow to pique curiosity, ".. Sounds like you just want me all to yourself~"

Kohaku had.. enough drive. He just had no way to let loose. Not for a lack of trying, either. He simply wasn't good enough at flirting - that or, perhaps it was the kid, the clothes, the height or maybe he's refusal with the many open men to lay beneath them. One of these had to be a turn off. Whatever. He didn't want to think about it. "This is not a subject I should really be sharing with you. You may think yourself mature from your many 'wild nights' but I think you are still just a child. Such talk is bad for you. May promote your terrible behaviour." He smiled softly, running fingers through his hair - not ever stepping - he kissed the other's forehead, eyes gazing at the fingers on his arms. "You make me sound very selfish when put that way. I do, in a way, I suppose. I know you are safe like this - in my arms." He'd sooner die than lose Valour. He'd sooner kill than allow a hand to strike him. He lost much with his wife - such as his trust in humanity and their worth. He took another drink - large drink, finishing off the cup - before resting his head atop valour's. [/style] |

Perhaps, in time, Kohaku had forgotten what it felt like to have an emotional attachment. Or, rather, a physical one. And at the present time, he was using Valor's own compulsions as a mean to drive the conversation away from himself. And which of the two was considered the childish one? Valor simply had to wonder. " Dear Loverboy," he began, shaking his head from one side to the other, gently whispering a 'tsk, tsk' before continuing, " our discussion is on your own needs at the moment, not my personal level of maturity~ Do not distract from the matter at hand." He grinned, turning a smidge to break from the other's arms. At times, he pondered whether or not their relationship with each other was a healthy one. For Valor, the chances were strong that it was the only healthy relationship he had ever obtained. For Kohaku, he doubted their status was quite that great. He ignored the other's comment on safety, nudging his shoulders a bit to get out of their grasp, taking note of the empty glass as he stood, grasping both glasses, and making his way to the kitchen. " Do not fret~ I promise to make myself comfortable~" he chuckled, his sparkling teeth blaring bright under his pale lips. " Vodka, I presume? Or do you have another preference?" He wanted Kohaku to talk to him, honestly, openly. He figured there might be a means to have that done.

Only frowned, retreating to his quiet ways. He allowed the other to stand, fingers slowly sliding from the other's arms and merely falling back into his lap as he looked at his partner. Kohaku never bothered to think healthy, or not. Maybe it was not the best, but he certainly had far worse. Many times, he had gone through worse relationships. Valour did not intentionally abuse him, seek out his pain and mock him for a sense of pride. He mocked him because they were friends, and friends make each other miserable.
"Oui". He slunk down on the couch. With the other gone, he let his back rest against the back of the couch, legs out and arm draped over his face with a sigh. He didn't want to drink. It made him too foolish, too silly. Yet, he was agreeing. Because being drunk sounded beautiful right now. "Bring the bottle." Because the other jumped to conclusions, he followed with "We might as well finish it, I know you want to". Better than letting it sit there. Useless. In the way. He wanted to be drunk. Just not the drunk Valour wanted, that he was unaware of. [/style] |

It appeared their conversation had turned sour, somewhere along the line, and though Valor had never cared much for confrontation when it came to his relationship with the other, he simply let the tension sit. Certainly, the other realized his intention of drinking the man to death (not literally, of course). But when his counter-part drew silent around him.. it always seemed to set a chill on Valor's spine. He didn't like seeing Kohaku silent. It meant he was thinking. And that was never good. Slowly stepping into the kitchen, Valor wrapped his fingers about the aforementioned bottle, plucking it up and stepping away before turning back and grabbing the gin as well. Better to be safe than sorry, no? Though, this time, he left the tonic water where it rested. There was no need for that. " French," he began, rolling his blue eyes, " such an ugly language~" He jested. Perhaps. And the man was correct, in some way. Valor did wish to finish the bottle, though, not at all to himself. He would sit and sip at his own beverage, of which he had still yet to even complete his initial glass. He was sure that Kohaku hadn't noticed, simply topping his own off with gin before filling the other's drink with the opposite poison. " Mind if I turn down the lights?" he asked, assuming that, in due time, Kohaku would have his head in his hands, saying merely that it was due to his head aching. That was hardly ever the truth. At least, that was what Valor assumed.

He once more made room for the other, fingers brushing back the map of silver hair before scowling. Such a rude boy. He watched valour a moment, only to give a weak smile, and a whispered ' me sucer la bite' before softly chuckling. Though his amber eyes stayed on the other, following his movement.
"Have you had a rough day? Usually you wait a bit longer before hugging the bottles." Because, of course, he assumed it was valour, and not himself that was a victim here. He was that way always. Kohaku was always fine. Always good. Nothing wrong. Picking up his glass, the man turned it over in his hand, eyeing the small cup before watching his friend sit and tilting the cup towards him, silently asking for the other to spot him some of the damning juice. "mood lighting?" [/style] |

" Perhaps later," he replied in a 'matter of fact' sort of manner, a hand reaching out, as he stepped toward the light fixture, to switch it off, then making his way to a small lamp for a lighter tinge of illumination. A rough day? That was a good joke. Valor would never admit to having a hard time, especially not to the man that never bothered to speak of his own troubles. Certainly, Valor had missed his second months' worth of rent on his apartment, and he couldn't exactly afford to tailor one of his favorite pieces that had been ripped in... an aggressive fit of passion.. But he had funds put away for another place. And he had time to try and patch up his suit on his lonesome-- though he was a bit hesitant to do so. Work had been terrible, but, then again, it was always terrible. And due to the stepping in of his old friend, he had lost what was going to be an easy lay. " I am well, friend~" he mused, smiling and shaking his head, " You worry too much over nothing. Am I not allowed to have a drink or two with a good acquaintance? There is nothing wrong with doing such a thing." Was there? Perhaps he was a bit of a drinker, but in no way was he as bad as the other often perceived him to be. At that, he poured more for his counterpart, lifting a brow to the man's words. Mood lighting? How humorous. " Mood lighting, hm? Well, if that is what you wish it to be..~"

I feel you have lost the ability to speak without having that hint in your voice" Yet he was smiling. It was a warm one, but a known one. Warm, yet nervous. Soft, yet small and weak. To others it was kind, comforting, to the other party, it was unsettling and meant what Valour feared - he had been thinking. Such was proven further by how quick he saw to toss back the drink in the form of a shot - in two parts of course - before setting it on the coffee table with a soft thud. His body fell back against the couch, eyes closing with a sigh.
"Perhaps not, I suppose." He hesitated and cracked an eye, gazing over at his friend before reaching out, a hand resting on the curve of his shoulder and neck. " ..When was the last time we bothered with this? A simple night with some drinks and company?" If he recalled, the last time they tried, Valour dragged him to a bar, and Kohaku slipped out the back when the gijinka was busy with his.. company. He didn't care for such things. He was in no need of a quick lay. Not that night. Not most nights. "It's nice" He added softly. [/style] |

" Is that right?" he chuckled, giving a gentle grin as he viewed Kohaku's, not that said smile was a meaningful to other man as it was to Valor. Still, he gave his own, closing his eyes for a moment to the other throwing back his head and his drink. Valor was not one for taking shots. It was too brutal. And his own physique was too suave for that. He preferred to sip at a tumbler, watch his prey, and at the right moment, strike. Shooting to get hammered was never a decent way to do that, and to most, the action itself was a turn-off. Of course, not when Kohaku did it. But that was for another day. Bother? It wasn't a bother, was it? Perhaps Valor did make himself out to be too bothered so as to sit in one place for so long of a time. " Has it really been so long?" he questioned, verbally. He found himself at the other's abode most days, at least, it seemed it. Valor spent more time at his counterpart's home than at his own, and though that was not saying too much, he spent little time at any other specific places either. Though.. perhaps he did often come around to take the other man elsewhere. He was prone to dragging the man about town every once in a blue moon. Valor lowered his head to the feeling of the man's hand upon his nape. It was a warm feeling. " I suppose," he added, lightly tipping one of the tall bottles into Kohaku's shooting glass, " that more time could be spent doing things such as this."

After all.." He had been on slopes. Valour was there through them. Some were dark. Some where six beers just to go to sleep. Some where a bottle of rum and a very horrible, very shameful man locked away in his office hating the sun for ever raising. He had been good these last few years. Social drinking, trying to sleep occasionally. Mh.
Pouring himself another cup, Kohaku draped an arm on the back of the couch once more, faintly behind Valour and looked the boy over for a long, curious second and then allowed his gaze to drift. "I tend not to drink when you drag me out. I would rather not have my my students, or heavens their parents, see me in such a state. Besides. I rather not be so empty headed around strangers. Unlike you, I don't enjoy the company of those I can not trust." He frowned. It hurt him deeply - no, it scared him deeply. He needed therapy. [/style] |

Valor had been there. He had been one to take Mink away when things were too heavy. To slip medicines into Kohaku's drinks to get him to go to bed. On one or two occasions, he had even found the man passed out in various positions, in various places, and opted to carry him to bed-- not that Kohaku needed to know about times such as those. He had spent many days worried, many nights drinking himself.. and more than a few times trying to get the man to open up with him. There were days when he had.. more frequent were the days that he hadn't. All the while, a nice mess of work, shopping, and house care to fool around with. Valor had never minded helping. He owed that much to the man, anyways. Now, the blonde worried about Kohaku's social tendencies. That, however, was something to ease into. It was one reason why his own behavior was so erratic. That and his need for blood. No. He was not a serial killer or anything of the sort. He needed the rush. It kept him sane. " There is no need for you to participate, then~" he hummed, opting not to call his own bluff. He needed to have someone there with him. It made him feel, at times, as if he was needed, cared for. Though he would always say that he did it for the sheer fact that he wished Kohaku to get out more. That was not always the case, of course. " I think you may need to have that anxiety looked into. What have you been taking as of late, friend? Nothing to heavy, I hope~" That was if Kohaku had actually been taking any of his medications. Valor doubted it. He took a sip of his drink, moving to let the back of his hand run over the other's cheek. " ... You look tired."

" He wasn't even going to try and lie. "I have not bothered. Been too busy. Besides, keeps them from running out." He was an asshole. A stupid asshole at that. Kohaku always struggled with his pills. He refused to take them, hated them, hide them. Yet he needed them. Kept his anxiety down. Kept the attack at bay. His pride would be his undoing, no doubt.
The touch surprised him, but calm eyes looked at Valour before leaning into the touch, his hand hand laying over the boy's in a sweet gesture. "I am quite fine. I had a paper due. Skimped a few hours of sleep to finish it. Before Mink woke up, that is." He was a terrible man indeed. He was overworking again. He was overworking again. He did this - it kept his mind off things. Away from people. Very slowly, the man was pulling away. Become more and more alienated from the social world. He use to be such a spotlight, all known. No longer. He was just some depressed, solo punk. Punk, in the eyes of valour. [/style] |

In that retrospect, they both viewed the other as a child. Perhaps less to Valor of Kohaku, but still. It was painful to hear how he reacted in lieu of medication. " I'm in need of running into the office in the morning; I'll take your prescriptions with me. With what pharmacy are you with these days? It has been some time since I accompanied you to any stores~" Kohaku never went shopping. With that thought, he pushed a lock of hair behind Kohaku's ear. Really. He needed to, at the very least, try to keep that messy hair from getting into that pretty face of his. Something such as that wouldn't take to much effort, Valor was certain of that. Valor could have told Kohaku to go to bed. To shut up, stop drinking, and get some sleep before Valor made him sleep. But he had made threats before, most of them empty, and he had tried to make the man rest when he had no intention to do so. He could have scolded him about resting. Told him that it made him worry, made his young son worry. Instead, he topped off Kohaku's drink, kissed his forehead, and gave a soft grin. " Tell me about this paper that you wrote..? Are you doing well in school? Any professors worth.. extra time~?" He was a terrible person. More than that, a terrible friend, promoting foul behavior where it was not necessary.
