admin notes: this is a quick example thread of how battles should look if everything is done smoothly. as you can see, we have a posting order that's more established as soon as the fight begins: trainer1, gijinka1, trainer2, gijinka2. we recommend this as the optimal order, but if you can figure something out that's better among the four of you, that's fine as well. it had been weeks since they had last been in a fight, so harley was itching to go. he had randomly thrown an ad into the street a few days ago stating the time and place, and now here they were, brakeless, ready to either kick ass or get it handed back. he wasn't sure what this fight's turnout would be, nor did he really care. he just needed to be stronger, and so did lee. looking over his shoulder, he sighed, seeing lee was, as usual, running late. "hurry up, we don't have all day!" he called at the silhouette far in the distance. whatever, he'd start without him if he had to.
looking over in the front, he saw the two approaching; the team opponent. har grinned and gave a nod, adjusting his patch and widening his stance a bit. "hope you're ready to go." tag: southie, arz, smiff

Lee dragged his feet after Harley, rubbing his eyes with one hand and lugging a bag with the other. He really didn't want to battle right now. Every time there was a fight, he felt the brunt of the blows. Sure, he'd grown used to the constant aches and pains that came with being a trainer, but that didn't mean he had to like it, "I can't believe you got me out of bed for this... where even are the guys that you said were gonna battle us?"
He "accidentally" bumped into the back of the Gijinka with a groan, leaning his head into the taller man's back and slumping, "This is stupid why do we need to do this?" Though truthfully, he did like the battles. They were exhilarating, fun... it was just the aftereffects he wasn't fond of. That was why he'd learned to bring a bag with first aid.
Proof that Lee can be trained with the right motivation.

At the very least, the air was lovely today. With a worn teddy bear swinging from his right hand, Sybil slowly approached the tall man who was waiting, there as he had declared. "You're sure to win, Sybil." The familiar voice crept into his head, and he smiled at it's confidence. "If you say so Cinnamon."
Oh but of course, "The stars have graced us this day, so this shouldn't take too long." Sybil smiled innocently, the words soft as usual, but their sincerity was a tad off. It was all in good fun though, wasn't it? Turning his head, he called out to his partner, who he was slowly trailing behind. "You ready Big T?" The angel ached to spread his wings, still smiling at the opposing team.

He heard the voice of Sybil coming from behind him. Looking over his shoulder Theo watched his trainer. He still wasn't used to the idea of having a trainer. For so long Theo had thought he was a Blank, then he ran into this kid one day.
He was... Strange.
"Yeah kiddo." Theo replied over his shoulder. He looked confident on the outside, but he lacked the inner confidence his partner had. They've never fought together as a team before. Hell Theo hid the fact that he was a Gijinka for years.
His eyes moved forward only to find his opponents. He wasn't sure who to think of them. "Brakeless?" Theo asked, his reluctance could be heard in his voice. "We're Angles." He pointed a thumb at his bare chest. Yeah, Theo was shirtless. He was gonna ruin a shirt over some fight. "You guys wanna get this started?"

harley grunted a little as lee smacked himself into his back. "you can stand on your own, come on. it's like five in the afternoon, you shoulda been up hours ago." then again, lee was pretty notorious for staying up late. he looked ahead and saw their battle partners more closely -- a bigger, burlier man without a shirt accompanied a smaller kid with silvery hair. well, they were certainly an interesting pair.
harley grinned and walked forward to offer a fistbump to both of them. "aye, yeah, that's us. let's get this party started!" he then took his place in front of lee, looking over his shoulder. he gave him a reassuring smile before turning back to the other pair. he put his hands up into fists before taking a battle-ready stance, clearly eager to get this going. he was sure lee wasn't as excited but he would deal with it; lee wanted to be stronger just as much as har did. "ready when you are, your move."

"Dick," he murmured back, clearly not energetic enough to come up with a real excuse for not being able to stand by himself. True, he probably should have been up hours ago, but he couldn't help that he went to bed at around seven this morning! Okay, maybe he could've helped it... but that was beside the point. He was too tired for this today.
Lee heaved a heavy sigh when the other team showed up, offering a wave from where he was standing but otherwise not saying much in terms of pleasantries. He'd perk up as soon as the battle "officially" started, but right now, he really just seemed to be in a lazy funk.
Letting the bag in his hand fall to the floor, he had a closer look at the two opponents. The trainer was small and... somewhat strange looking... and the Gijinka was big and brawny. It reminded Lee a bit of himself and Har. Only-- wait was he admitting he was short? "Damn it damn it damn it!" he exclaimed to himself. He hadn't even been aware he'd cursed out loud until he looked up at his audience.
"Oh hell, just start the fight already, I'm impatient!"

Sybil kept his distance from the two, at this point eyeing the two cautiously. They were as much as a queer pair as Theo and himself, but it was of no matter or importance, they would still be losing today. He had unrivaled confidence in Theo, even though it was only their first battle as a team. His hand tightened around Cinnamon, "It's a shame you won't be seeing any halos today." The remark directed at the other team.
"As you wish." Sybil's reply was brief, holding about it an air of confidence. With a grin, he turned his head to Theo. "Blind them, Theo, swallow them entirely; body and soul. Sandstorm." He'd be able to stand through the whipping sand, his body untouched and unharmed; such a field move seemed so unfair.

"Um... Yeah. Don't mind him, he's just like this." Theo was starting, starting, to get used to Sybil's strange behaviors. It was a little endearing. The way he persisted on no matter. But only a little.
"Ya ya, I'm on it kiddo." Stepping forward, Theo didn't do anything nearly convectional. His hands fell to his pants. Fingers unbuttoned the dark jeans, and the pants fell to the ground. As Theo's black briefs were exposed a torrent of sand and wind overtook the battlefield.
"Like the view?" Theo asked through the howl of the wind. Stepping out of his pants the sand obscured the image of his nearly naked body. He was really so much more comfortable without clothes then with.
It was a pity the undies had to stay.

Lee watched with little to no interest as the rival team took action. Well, at least, not until he caught a glimpse of Theo dropping his pants. Well, that was a wake up call. Lee blinked, but his vision was immediately obscured by the sandstorm, "That should be considered cheating..." he grumbled. Taking a couple of steps forward onto the field, he squinted in the blistering winds to try and catch a glimpse of Harley.
"Alright, alright! Let's show them who's boss! Har, hang tight. Wait for him to get close and try to trip him up with a Low Kick!"

harley raised an eyebrow at lee at the sudden barrage of swears. "okay, okay, man, calm down. don't get your titties in a twist, we'll finish this quickly." he cracked his knuckles and grinned over at theo, and then the orders came.
well, that had been a nice view before the sandstorm whipped up and concealed everything... harley turned to look and see if lee was all right. it probably wouldn't hurt too much, but it was certainly enough to do damage later on down the road. harley let out a hmph in agreement, raising a hand to show he got lee's order. he crept closer just a ways, waiting for the best moment to strike... then, as soon as he saw theo in a better view, he whipped his leg out from underneath him, aiming his low kick at theo's knees to try and make them buckle.

Sybil couldn't help but stifle his giggling, grinning as Theo dropped his pants to the ground; revealing a pair of black briefs. This wasn't anything new, or in any bit surprising; Sybil enjoyed it, in truth, but it wasn't of a nature for him to admit. "Handsome as always, my pet." As it darkened around him, Sybil clutched Cinnamon tight; he felt the need to cling to Theo's side, but remained rooted. He always was one for the dark, but the visual separation of Theo left him nervous.
His words were swallowed; sand whipping through the air, Sybil kept his eyes cut and focused on Theo. He winced, his knees buckling as Theo was hit; dropping to the ground and whimpering. "Theo, rend his flesh! Bite!" He shouted through the storm, it would be best to take advantage of the close proximity, strike while close.

To be honest, Theo liked the veil of sand. Sybil was so much like a child, or at least that's what Theo thought. The sand would mask the darker parts of the battle, hide them away from Sybil. Theo liked that.
But the sandstorm had it's draw backs.
Theo never saw the low kick coming. It hit him square in the knees, causing the big man to fall down. On his hands and knees, Theo looked around for the other Gijinka. He had to strike back, to make them feel the same pain they inflicted on Sybil.
Seeing Harley, Theo lunged forward like an animal. Mouth open wide his teeth were more fang like then anything you would find in a human's mouth. Clamping down he attempted to bite into the Scraggy's flesh.
