[atrb=align,right][atrb=style,width:320,btable][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-bottom: 1px solid #707070;] it's just business, darling | [style=float: right; border: 1px solid #707070; padding: 3; position: relative; left: 6; margin-top: 3;] The downtown city street lights flickered like hyperactive fireflies above her head as Yvette meandered down the busy sidewalk. Her head was held high, her spine straight, and her strides long with each placed with purpose and intent. One could tell just from her walk that this girl was definitely confident, and not to be messed with. Despite her eyes being locked directly in front of her, she still managed to dance between the members of the crown flawlessly, not daring to let one even graze the expensive, white leather of her jacket. Who knows where these people have been in the last ten minutes? Not that she would think of them any differently otherwise; it was none of her business what people did with their free time. She just didn't want any of that residue on her.
After a few more minutes of promenading with the members of the crowd, Yvette's paced slowed to a stop as she came upon a door. She didn't even need to look up at the flashing sign above the door to know where she was; she'd been here enough to be able to find her way her blindfolded. This was Giovanni's, her favorite bar around town, and also the workplace of her gijinka partner. The two variables were not necessarily related, but one could argue that, with her high reaching connections, Yvette might have put in a good word to help get her partner the job. However, even if that were remotely true, Yvette would never let that information get out. Veronica would never let her hear the end of it (er, perhaps hear was not the best choice in words, but nevermind that). A pleased smirk spreading across her face, the white haired woman opened the door and slipped inside the bar.
Once inside, the mumbles conversations and vehicular noises that were heard outside were replaced by the low buzzing of television sets and the hollering of men as they watched the daily sports matches. It was rather crowded, but then again, it was every other night of the week. Yvette never even took notice to it anymore, and immediately strutted up to the counter of the bar, skillfully slipping in front of a rather intoxicated couple to do so. To anyone else, the antics and loud laughter of the duo behind her might be interesting, but Yvette hardly cared. They weren't going to do anything she hadn't seen before, and they definitely weren't going to give her anything. No, there was only one person who could do that for her right now. Leaning forward to rest her elbows delicately on the counter, her aquamarine eyes looked around behind the counter for that familiar bouncy, cotton-candy pink hair.
"Oh bartender!~" [/style] |

the female walked on over to the counter, her chest bouncing up and down in the rather revealing top that hardly seem able to cover most of her chest. she busied herself with cleaning the cups that had been recently used by customers, the blue cloth doing the duty of rubbing itself in the cup. she tapped her foot on the floor to the subtle music being played in the bar and her purple eyes kept a good look out for the many who occupied the counter. stopping momentarily in her cleaning to fill up a scotch for a customer, a wink sent in his direction as he pitifully drank away his sorrows. damn these people were hilarious. if it weren't for the fact that she was able to work with booze, her other favorite part of the job was watching the many customers that came by.
another pathetic soul came dragging it's way to her counter and she sauntered over towards him. a hand placed on the counter as she leaned in to wait for his order. when he managed to grumble out an order she winked in reply and bounced on off to get the whiskey for the poor fool. her hand reached up for a glass when the familiar sound of a woman's voice vibrated through the bar calling out to her. grabbing the glass and turning around a large grin came upon the gijinka's face. with one hand she began to sign to the lady as she made her way to the customer that had been waiting on his whiskey.
❛what is up, bitch?❜ she placed the glass down and pulled out the bottle of whiskey to poor for the man, taking the money that he owed her and stuffed it down between her breasts. her hands came up again to engage in a conversation with yvette. ❛came to join the pathetic idiots in drinking their sorrow away?❜
done with signing to the woman, she put a finger up again to make another martin for a rather large woman. [/classy] |

[atrb=align,right][atrb=style,width:320,btable][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-bottom: 1px solid #707070;] it's just business, darling | [style=float: right; border: 1px solid #707070; padding: 3; position: relative; left: 6; margin-top: 3;] Yvette couldn't help but chuckle softly as she watched Veronica's hands, her mind quickly processing what each of the symbols meant. She had been with the mute woman for so long that she could understand sign language almost just as well as normal speech. However, that didn't mean she didn't screw up sometimes with catching the signs, especially when Veronica got excited...but that's for a different time.
"Oh c'mon, Veronica. Look at me!" Yvette leaned back and used her hands to motion towards herself, mainly her expensive looking, leather outfit that definitely made her stand out among the other average looking drunks scattered around the bar. "I'm one of the most influential women in the business scene here in the city! No one pulls shit with me, I can get whatever I want when I want it, and--" She leaned in, her body pushing against the bar as she tried her best to whisper to the other woman. "If this new deal goes through? By the end of the month, I could have enough money in my pocket to fund a small business!" A toothy grin spread across her face for a second as she said that, dropping her suave demeanor to silently 'squee' towards Veronica. However, that didn't last for long, and a second later she was back to leaning gracefully on the counter, her elbows against the surface and her chin resting on one of her hands. "What the hell kind of sorrows would I have to be drinking away?"
Suddenly, something caught Yvette's from across the counter, causing her to raise a brow. A sly smirk followed soon after. "Although, I wouldn't mind keeping some of these idiots some company while they do it...and then walk them home after." She motioned with her heads towards a rather attractive looking female across the bar, who had very obviously already had one too many to drink with the way she was slumped over the counter. "Just to make sure they make it safely to /bed/, y'know?" Yvette snickered before sighing, letting herself entertain that thought. It had been quite a bit since she had met a nice girl...well, one that swung her way anyways. Ah, well...there was no helping it, and she had more important things to worry about than romance anyways, like trying to rid the city of those filthy Rockets.
Deciding not to let herself entertain that thought, Yvette looked around at the bottles behind the counter. "...hm. Surprise me tonight, Veronica. I'm feeling a bit adventurous." There wasn't much alcohol Yvette didn't like, so she wasn't taking much of a chance here, and Veronica was great at what she did. She just hoped she didn't make it too light. [/style] |
